We believe the internet should be built for everyone. That includes people with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments.
We are committed to making the Fixels website as accessible as possible. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We also operate in compliance with the Equality Act 2010, which requires us to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people can access our services on an equal basis.
What we are doing
We have built and continue to maintain the site with the following accessibility measures in mind:
- Colour contrast: We use a dark slate and bright amber colour palette chosen to support readable text and sufficient contrast.
- Keyboard navigation: The site is designed to be operable with a keyboard, including using the Tab key to move between interactive elements.
- Alternative text: We aim to provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images so screen readers can describe them.
- Responsive design: The site is designed to adapt to different screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktops, and to remain usable when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed.
- Semantic HTML: We use a logical heading structure and landmark regions to help screen reader users navigate.
Known limitations
We are committed to transparency. The following known accessibility limitations exist on our site, and we are actively working to resolve them:
- Third-party embeds: Some embedded content (such as video or maps) provided by third parties may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. We have no direct control over these but will seek accessible alternatives where possible.
- Ongoing testing: We test manually and with assistive technologies, but have not yet commissioned a full independent audit. We plan to do so by May 2027.
